Progress to Work and Life Skills

Supported courses for students that develop skills for the future in work or life

Cardiff and Vale College offers a range of courses within the Progress to Work and Life Programme that are designed to meet the needs of young people with a range of abilities including those with learning, physical and sensory disabilities as well as Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Courses are offered at a range of levels to cater for all learners and abilities.

We ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for learners to help them develop, with specialist support and opportunities to progress into other courses within the College. Small class sizes mean our team can provide individual guidance and support to each learner.

From the outset, our friendly team will meet with learners and their families/carers to offer helpful advice and guidance about which course will be most suitable and to discuss all the necessary additional support the college can offer, from learning support to disability support, counselling and more.

Above all, we want you to feel supported, safe and happy at Cardiff and Vale College to enable you to progress in all aspects of life and/or work.

Course options include:

  • Vocational Access Courses
  • Progress to Work or Life courses
  • Skills for Progression in College

Progression opportunities after these courses:

  • Preparation for Work and Life – PWL
  • Opportunities to progress onto Work skills 2 and Work skills 3 / Life skills 1 and Life skills 2.
  • Vocational Access - Opportunities to progress onto Level 1 vocational areas.
