Cardiff and Vale College collaborates with ActiveQuote to deliver a bespoke Leadership Development Programme

ActiveQuote, the UK’s leading comparison site and broker of health and protection insurance products has recently embarked on a 16-week Leadership Development Programme with Cardiff and Vale College. The bespoke Programme brings together different levels of management across the business to help develop and improve leadership within the organisation.

ActiveQuote understands the importance of great leadership and this Programme combines content specific to their business with solution focused leadership techniques and interactive delivery. Focusing on ‘Creating a Vision’, ‘Building Alignment’ and ‘Promoting Action’ the Programme is underpinned by ActiveQuote’s core values and is integrated with the development and direction of the organisation.

Cardiff and Vale’s bespoke interventions are designed to meet the dynamic and growing needs of the industry and are supported by a certified ‘Everything DiSC’ facilitator. Everything DiSC helps teams to communicate and interact more effectively by bringing assessment insights to life through specific, personalised solutions. The Programme offers strategies for creating a common language that translates across organisational hierarchy and industry. Everything DiSC profiles help build better working relationships between people and, coupled with the bespoke 16-week Programme, enable insight and development for the individual leaders, their departments and the organisation as a whole.

Speaking about the Programme, Lloyd Davies, L&D Lead for ActiveQuote said: “The course is a really good way to identify areas we need to work on as a group and provides flexibility to discuss valid areas.”

As one of the largest ILM Approved Centres in Wales, Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) offers a range of management qualifications providing core management and leadership training as well as bespoke training courses specifically tailored to the business.

Martin Condy – Learning and Development Business Partner at CAVC said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed designing and delivering this Programme with ActiveQuote. As with our other bespoke development Programmes, we have worked with ActiveQuote at every stage to tailor the content and shape the delivery. This has created not only an enjoyable and responsive Programme, but also the foundations for lasting impact. We focused on strengthening both leaders and leadership within the organisation and we’re delighted to be able to support ActiveQuote in developing their team and inspiring great leadership.”

In addition to the development of this bespoke Programme, CAVC has also partnered with ActiveQuote on a successful Apprenticeship Programme, funded by the Welsh Government with support from the European Social Fund (ESF), which has resulted in a number of apprentices securing permanent employment at ActiveQuote.

Speaking about the partnership with CAVC, Clare Allen, Head of Operations at ActiveQuote said:

“ActiveQuote has been working in partnership with CAVC for the last 12 months on both the Apprenticeship Programme and the Leadership Development Programme. The Apprenticeship Programme was highly effective and our former apprentices are enjoying their new roles within the company.

"The Leadership Development Programme was highly interactive and, whilst planned sessions were agreed prior to launch, Martin adapted each session in accordance with individual learning needs and key business priorities. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with CAVC to further develop colleagues across our organisation.”

In recent years, CAVC has been firmly established as a sector leading provider due to numerous national and UK awards secured. Alongside its state of the art training facilities, and with over 1000 award winning industry experts and sector specialists, CAVC’s partnership with ActiveQuote continues to demonstrate the commitment to supporting and developing leadership and management skills across business communities within the Cardiff Capital Region and beyond.
