Cardiff and Vale College launches new A Level centre in Shanghai
Cardiff and Vale College has launched a new Cardiff and Vale College Shanghai Centre to offer A Level provision in the prosperous Chinese city.
Run in partnership with Yi Jin Education Group, the Centre will offer a three-year A Level Programme, the final year of which will be based at the College’s landmark City Centre Campus in Cardiff. The programme will include innovative Skype teaching from CAVC lecturers in Cardiff as well as interaction with UK-based students and classes. Students from Shanghai will also enjoy UK-based ‘In Term Study Programmes’ which will provide rich cultural experiences and benefit from opportunities for interviews at a range of UK universities.
The partnership was formally announced at a high profile signing ceremony held in Shanghai on 6th December 2016. The ceremony was attended by Cardiff and Vale College Chief Executive Mike James, Vice Principal Mary Kent and Francois Gao, Chief Executive of Yi Jin Education Group.
“Yi Jin have been highly professional and proactive in their work with us and we are delighted to be working with such hardworking and innovative partners,” CAVC Chief Executive Mike James said. “We see this partnership as being a strong collaboration, where our high standards of quality and innovative teaching practices will compliment Yi Jin’s local expertise in education and presence in Shanghai and other regions of China.”
Cardiff and Vale College is one of the largest Further Education colleges ion the UK and is set in the heart of the capital city of Wales. Every year it provides education and training to more than 30,000 individuals and is part of the prestigious Collab Group.
