Cardiff and Vale College raises money for Cardiff Food Bank

Enterprise Workshop students celebrated their first term at Cardiff and Vale College with an Autumn Harvest Fayre recently, raising money for Cardiff Food Bank.

The Enterprise Workshop is a course for adults with learning disabilities. The event included a bake sale with Welsh recipes made from seasonal ingredients, fruit and vegetables sourced locally and from the College garden alongside potted plants from the garden.

The day was held at the College’s Trowbridge campus but was also attended by students from the Pathways to Independence course (based at the Barry campus) providing a great opportunity for students and staff from both campuses to meet and celebrate the event together.

Cardiff Food Bank is a charity who help local people suffering financial hardship. They collect and redistribute food contributions to people in need. The students from Enterprise Workshop will be visiting the Food Bank this term to see how the money and food they collected has been put to good use. Altogether four boxes of food were collected at the Autumn Fayre, donations from both staff and students.
