Cardiff and Vale College students benefit from body armour

Cardiff and Vale College students who are training for a career in one of the uniform services have benefited from the donation of body armour.

SafeGuard Armour, a supplier of body armour, ballistic helmets and bullet and stab-proof vests, has donated two Kevlar vests to the College’s Public Services Department at its Colcot Road Campus in Barry. Public Services courses develop people’s physical fitness alongside the desired knowledge and skills to start a career in one of the uniformed services.

CAVC First Diploma in Public Services tutor Tom Jones said: “The students are thoroughly pleased with the kind donation from SafeGuard Armour. By allowing them to put on the armour and feel what it’s like to wear on patrol gives a whole new spin to the students’ teaching and learning experience.

“The Public Services Department here at Colcot Road try to offer realism in to the ever-changing world of our public services. SafeGuard has donated a vital piece of equipment that will dare our students to learn more and inspire them to fulfil their goals for years to come.”
