Cardiff and Vale College students 'Bloom' at end of year art show
Art & Design, 3D Design and Fashion & Clothing students from Cardiff and Vale College have showcased their work at ‘Bloom’, an exhibition at the Sherman Theatre.
The exhibition included a private view and fashion show which was enthusiastically attended by friends and family.
CAVC Art & Design Lecturer Gwen Buchan said: “We are immensely proud of the work out students exhibited in ‘Bloom’, our end of year show for 2015. It is so exciting to see our students begin their creative career paths and become the artists and makers of tomorrow.”
Sherman Theatre Head of Events and Operations Phil Persoglio added: “This exhibition is really exciting – the quality of work is top class.”
CAVC students were thrilled to be showing their work at such an iconic Cardiff Venue.
Art & Design student Kimberley Barker, 19 and from Cardiff, said: “It was strange but really lovely to see my work there. It was magical.”
Fellow Art & Design student Flavia Fluharty, 18 and from Grangetown, added: “I thought that it was amazing seeing my work on display. I didn’t think it would actually look that good, but it was probably one of the best moments of my time at College - especially when I think that when I enrolled I hadn’t really done that much painting, sculpture or artwork of any kind, apart from drawings. I think it’s a good example of how my skills have developed.”
