Leadership and Management training at CAVC recognised for its high standards

Cardiff and Vale College has been recognised for the high standards of its leadership and management courses with a national quality award.

CAVC has been granted the Leadership & Management Wales (LMW) quality award. The award reflects the College’s ability to progress and pursue best practice in leadership and management development.

LMW has established the award to help build a community of training and education providers who recognise the importance of developing leadership and management training as key to Welsh employers.

Cardiff and Vale College works with a range of employers in both public and private sectors to provide tailor-made training for staff at all levels. For example, the College works closely with Wales & West Utilities, offering training tailored to individual needs from customer services to its leadership team.

Dr Barrie Kennard, Director of Leadership & Management Wales, said: "Cardiff and Vale College have achieved the LMW quality award by demonstrating a clear commitment to providing leadership and management training of the highest quality that focuses on the learner journey from understanding individual skills development needs through to the effective application of those skills within the workplace."

“We work closely with employers to develop training that makes a real difference to the capability of their current and budding managers and to their wider business goals,” CAVC Head of Business Development and Commercial Services Wendy Williams said. “So our management courses include a core of knowledge and skills that all managers need supplemented by assignments, workplace projects, coaching and mentoring that focuses on the manager’s own particular job role. We are delighted that this approach has been endorsed with the award of a Quality Mark from Leadership & Management Wales!”
