Rachel Mulqueen wins Barclays Money Skills competition

Barclays can today reveal the winners of its money-saving ‘top tips’ and photographic ‘My money style’ competitions. The two competitions aimed to inspire further education college students to share their knowledge of money management following their involvement in Barclays Money Skills ‘weeks’, a national money management programme.

Local student Rachel Mulqueen from Cardiff and Vale College was named ‘Wales’ winner of the ‘Top tips’ competition, which asked students to provide a great money-saving tip.

Highlighting her money saving tip Rachel said: “Pack a picnic, grab a football and explore nearby parks! You can even take the dog and kill two birds with one stone.”

Students across the UK were encouraged to take part in the competitions by their colleges as part of Barclays Money Skills ‘weeks’, a national programme which improves students’ financial capability through a week-long series of classroom
