These courses offer learners at Pre-entry and Entry levels an identified pathway in either Life Skills or Work Skills. All learners typically have had a Statement of Educational Needs or IDP or EHCP.

All learners in this strand would have worked with the College Transition and Review officer to identify their long-term aim. An Initial Assessment of the full range of learner’s needs will be undertaken during the induction process to identify suitable targets and identified a route for progression. ESOL + Hair & Beauty Level 1One Canal Parade

The Hair & Beauty unit of the course will help you to develop the creative skill of using both hairdressing and beauty techniques to create an image based on a theme. You will research media images, plan and develop your ideas to create a mood board which you will then present to others. You will then re-create the image you have developed using technical hair and beauty skills. You will base your image on a theme and present your image to an invited audience. Some of these sessions will take place in the College’s fully resourced hair & beauty salons so students will become familiar with working within these environments. This course forms the basis of the knowledge required for progression onto a level 2 Hair or Beauty course. There will be 3.5 hours in the salon; 9.5 hours of ESOL and 3 hours of Numeracy.

AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting Level 2Cardiff

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting covers a range of foundation accounting and finance skills in five mandatory units (240 guided learning hours). The purpose of this qualification is to ensure that students are well prepared to progress into a business, finance or professional accountancy career or further education.
All of the units within the qualification are mandatory. Four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments, but this qualification also includes a synoptic assessment, sat towards the end of the qualification, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification:
