Hospitality - Introduction Level 1East Cardiff

This Hospitality NVQ Level 1 Certificate in Food Preparation & Cooking and Certificate in Food & Beverage Service is for the more practical learner, and will provide you with a very good insight into the catering industry.  Learners will have an opportunity of working in the College's restaurant, in the kitchen and front of house.  The course will deliver the basic skills of professional cookery within the catering industry; these include literacy and numeracy which form the basics for a chef when following recipes and taking orders.  You will also work on personal and social skills throughout the year.

This 1 year bakery course is designed for people who are considering further learning and progression in bakery training and education and will provide a foundation for a career in the bakery industry.  You will develop practical skills in bread and confectionery and will be required to work in the College's bakery.

This qualification will offer you the opportunity to develop intermediate practical skills and knowledge in a wide range of bakery manufacturing techniques.

Bakery FT Level 3 Level 3Cardiff

This 1 year program is designed for learners who are considering further learning and progression in bakery training and education and will provide a higher level for a career in the bakery industry. You will develop practical skills in breads and confectionery and will be required to work in the College's bakery.

 

This qualification will offer learners the opportunity to develop higher level practical skills and knowledge in a wide range of bakery manufacturing techniques. 

 

Students will be expected to show that they can work alone and as part of a team. There may also be an opportunity for all learners to visit trade shows such as Hotelympia, Cake International and relevant establishments.

Hospitality Supervision - NVQ L3 Level 3Barry

The (NVQ) Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Level 3 is a nationally recognised qualification set in a realistic working environment.  It is based on National Occupation Standards, which are written by employers and experts in the Hospitality industry.

This is a supervisory level 3, front of house qualification where we expect learners to be working part time in the Hospitality industry alongside doing the course.  When completed, your qualification will prove that you can work to these standards and will show that you are competent to be a supervisor in a Hospitality business as you will have gained the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to do this job.

This course is suitable for anyone already in the workplace looking to progress their career, or for anyone wanting to progress in to Hospitality Supervision seeking a position of responsibility.

You will work as a trainee supervisor in the training restaurant, working with and supporting lower level learners to gain the evidence for this qualification. This will be in a kitchen, restaurant, bar and reception area.

L3 Professional Cookery & Food Service-VRQ Level 3Cardiff

This 1 year course will suit learners who have already achieved VRQ L2 in Professional Cookery & Food Service and have chosen to specialise in one of the different pathways;  Front of House, Kitchen and Larder or Patisserie. 

Students will be expected to show that they can work alone and as part of a team and work in our Fine dining Restaurant on a rota basis. There may also be an opportunity for all learners to visit trade shows such as Hotelympia and different relevant establishments. The Diploma course is assessed through short answer questions and practical assessments.
