These qualifications in Public Services are targeted at learners who would like to gain employment in the public services sector and will give learners and in-depth view of opportunities that are available within this sector. The qualifications will develop learners’ abilities through the knowledge and skills gained in the programme and are suitable for learners who would like to know more about employment in uniformed public services.
The vocational context of the qualifications allows for effective delivery through assignment briefs and examinations (Level 2). This provides learners with realistic, work-based scenarios and projects and allows them to gain access and exposure to a variety of Uniformed Public Services that includes the British Armed Forces and Emergency Services. Learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and achievement with tutor guidance and support.
The Level 3 BTEC 90-Credit Diploma in Public Services is designed to prepare students for successful entry into any of the uniformed Public Services. The learning is focused upon investigating the work of the Police Service, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, Armed Forces and Prison Service.
For adult learners the BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma can extend their experience of working in a
particular sector. It could also be a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into a
particular area of employment following a career break.
The HND Public and Emergency Services course will give you a strong practical and academic grounding in how Public, Emergency and Armed services operate, are organised and are managed. This will not only enhance your studies but also give you valuable real-life experience in the workplace and help you to prepare for your career.
