On our well-respected catering and hospitality courses you can gain the knowledge, skills, experience and industry recognised qualifications to start a career as a Chef, Baker, Patisserie Chef or Front-of-House specialist.

You will learn in top class facilities, huge training kitchens, butchery, bakery and in our commercial restaurants including our new landmark city centre restaurant ‘The Classroom’. All staff are industry professionals and you’ll also benefit from masterclasses for students from visiting top professionals including James Sommerin, Phil Vickery and Larkin Cen. All this prepares you for your future career and provides inspirational experiences to help you stand out from the crowd.

Most students choose to progress into industry, gaining employment back-of-house (e.g. as chefs, pastry chefs or bakers), or front of house. Our students have gone onto work at Michelin star restaurants and five star locations across Wales, the UK and the world.

There are currently over 36,600 jobs as at 2015 – which is 2% above the national average across South East Wales. Both Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan (5.1% increase in jobs) are growing faster than South East Wales (4.7% increase in jobs) with these occupations (EMSI, 2016).

Course options

16-18

If you're interested in a career in the Catering and Hospitality industry then you could be one of the first to train in our iconic new campus with fine dining restaurant and industry-standard kitchens. With introductory level courses and then opportunities to specialise in areas such as Bakery, Professional Cookery or Patisserie and Confectionary as you progress, you'll be fully prepared for a successful career in the industry. 

Adults

We offer a range of courses at different levels if you’re looking to retrain for a career in hospitability and catering. If you already work in the industry we run a number of part-time courses such as Food Safety in Catering, Personal Licence Holders - BIIAB Award and Supervising Food Safety in Catering to help boost your career and qualifications.
