About this course

The Quantity Surveying HND builds on the knowledge and skills of the HNC. This covers construction industry fundamentals of cost control and techniques used for advanced quantity surveying practice.

The Higher National Diploma is highly regarded by employers due to the hands-on experience gained in the various tasks and requirements construction professionals face.

By the end of Level 5, students will have a sound understanding of the principles in their area of specialist study and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the business world. They will be able to perform effectively in their specialist area.

You Will study the following 5 Mandatory modules on this course,

Unit 28: Group Project (Pearson-set)
Unit 39: Personal Professional Development
Unit 36: Value Engineering & Cost Control
Unit 38: Advanced Quantities for Complex Building Projects
Unit 54: Advanced Quantity Surveying Practice

You will also study a further 45 credits at level 5 that will be set by the tutor.

The programme will be taught using a combination of lectures, guest speakers and tutorials. The programme will be assessed using a combination of assignments, practical assessment and examinations.

On completion of the HND, learners can progress onto university and study a BA (Hons) Quantity Surveying or progress directly into employment in the construction sector.
